Terms of Sale

Payment and Cancellation

The initial fee is a nonrefundable deposit on your order. In paying the initial deposit and establishing an appointment, you are contractually obligated to fully purchase the steer in question. Full pricing will be determined post-slaughter, at which point the client will be sent the final invoice from Payne Ranch Cattle Company. The client's full balance will need to be paid off once the hanging weight of the steer has been determined.

The estimated processing fee is $1,400 for a whole steer, but may be more or less depending on special fees and cut preferences. The final invoice from Payne Ranch will reflect the price of the steer based on its hanging weight, which will be weight times $3.50. Thus, a 1,200 pound steer with a hanging weight of 720 pounds will cost $2,520. A smaller steer will cost less and a bigger one more. The price of a half steer is estimated at $1,260 with an estimated processing fee of $800. The deposit will be credited to the customer's balance owed to Payne Ranch for the steer. Again, the balance owed to Payne Ranch Cattle Company is separate from the fee you will owe the processor upon pickup. For up-to-date details on processing fees, contact Nocona Meat Company.

Cut Details and Pickup

Upon the completion of your order and deposit, we will provide your contact information to the meat processor who will contact you shortly after the delivering of your reserved steer to record the details of your cut sheet.

The meat processor will also get in touch with the client to provide the pickup information. The aforementioned processing fee will be paid to the meat processor at time of pickup.

Cattle that are over 30 months old may be subject to certain bone-in cut options. For instance, all ribeyes from older cattle must be boneless. This is because the head and spinal cord are removed on more mature animals, as indicated by their teeth. Feel free to contact us for further details.
